PRP is a platelet plasma concentrate, injections of which are used in cosmetology, traumatology, dentistry, and thickened plasma in the form of fibrin clots is also used in surgery. To obtain clots, 5% calcium chloride is added to the plasma - 4 drops per ml of plasma. The difference between tubes with sodium citrate and tubes with sodium heparin is that plasma after citrate can be easily thickened by adding calcium, and heparin irreversibly blocks coagulation, so such plasma can only be used in a liquid state.
The PRP kit consists of a centrifuge, 50 sterile vacuum tubes with sodium citrate 3.2% or 3.8%, 50 butterfly needles for taking blood from the patient's vein and 50 holders necessary for correct and convenient blood collection with a vacuum tube.
